Purpose:
Novio Hand is a mobile standalone software for the treatment of patients with a medically treated hand injury or a degenerative disease affecting the hand. The treatment consists of movement exercises, which patients regularly perform with the app. The app increases patient adherence to therapy through daily reminders, educational content, a display of personal therapy progress, and gamification. Through the movement exercises and increased adherence, the range of motion in the hand improves, hand function increases, and pain decreases.

Contraindications:
M13.84: Acute arthritis
Z98.1: Arthrodesis of finger joints (CMC I, MCP, PIP, DIP joints)
R27.0: Ataxia
G40: Epilepsy
M81: Advanced osteoporosis
G82.4: Tetraplegia
G20.10: Parkinson’s disease (G20.10)
Patient Positioning Adjustability: Do not use Novio Hand therapy if it is not possible to safely position both the mobile device and the patient.
Bleeding in the upper extremity
Novio Hand is not suitable for patients under 16 years of age
Skin ulcers on the hand and/or distal forearm
Unstable fractures
Untreated or uncontrolled infections
